Information Governance
Information Governance is a systematic approach to managing the availability, usability, integrity, and security of the information an organisation uses to support its operations, decision-making, and goals.
It involves policies, processes, and practices that help ensure the information is reliable and accurate, and that it is used in a way that complies with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
The objective of information governance is to maximise the value of information while minimising the risks associated with its use. This includes ensuring that data is properly classified and managed throughout its lifecycle, and that it is protected from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Information governance also covers the processes for retiring or disposing of information when it is no longer needed.
Effective information governance requires the participation and cooperation of various stakeholders within an organisation, including information technology, legal, compliance, business, and security teams.
We will work with you to identify the current state of your information governance framework and from this develop a roadmap to move you to where you need to be.
An information governance audit can help an organisation ensure that its information governance practices are effective, efficient, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards, which in turn can help reduce the risk of data breaches, litigation, and reputational harm.
